About Fines

 List of 2007 Fees and Charges

Note: You can log into your account and pay fines online with a credit card.

Overdue fines are charged for materials if you do not return or renew them by the due date (higher fines on videos and DVDs).

• 30 cents per day per adult item ($6.00 maximum per item)
• $1.00 per day for video, DVD, Special Permit ($5.00 maximum per item)

There are no fines on Children's or Teen items.

There is a $1.00 charge to replace a lost Minneapolis Public Library card. Circulating materials borrowed from the Minneapolis Public Library may be returned to any public library in the Twin Cities metropolitan area. Special Permit and Interlibrary Loan items must be returned to the library where they were checked out.

Borrowing privileges are suspended if your overdue fines and/or replacement charges reach $15.00.

Internet access privileges are suspended if your overdue fines or replacement charges reach $50.00.

Please make checks payable to: Hennepin County Treasurer.  Do not send cash.
